Access to Apprenticeships in Engineering

West Anglia Training Association, in partnership with Vogal Training, are offering young people (male or female) in the Peterborough area the opportunity to undergo a six month Access to Apprenticeships in Engineering covering the following:-

Level 2 NVQ Diploma in Performing Engineering Operations
Level 2 Award in Industrial Environment Awareness
Key Skills Qualifications in Application of Number and Communication
Employment Rights and Responsibilities
Personal Learning and Thinking Skills

During the Access to Apprenticeships you will be developed to be ready to be employed in the Engineering Sector and possible progression to an Advanced Apprenticeship in Engineering at Level 3.

Successful applicants will attend the Vogal Training Centre in Ailsworth to cover the 30 hour per week development syllabus. You will develop Practical Skills in Electrical, Mechanical and Welding Engineering as well as the technical knowledge that underpins those Practical Skills.

In addition you will develop your Key Skills in the areas referred to above. These Key Skills will be important to you throughout your life.

After a successful initial period of three months at the Training Centre to prove your Ability, Aptitude, Attendance and Attitude, you will be supported to apply for employment with local companies to put into practice the new skills you learn.

Your travel expenses in attending the Training Centre will be paid and you will receive a cash bonus of £100 on successful completion.
