NEBOSH National Certificate in Construction Health & Safety at WATA
16 days including examinations
Unitised courseThis popular qualification is ideal for those with construction management responsibilities and also for those who are required to provide routine, day-to-day advice on health, safety and welfare in construction work. It is given as an example in the CDM ACOP 2007 as an indicator of competency for CDM Coordinators. The Unitised National Certificate in Construction Health and Safety consists of three units:
Unit NGC1 (week 1) - Management of health and safety (this is common to the NEBOSH National General Certificate)
Unit NCC1 (weeks 2 & 3) - Managing and controlling hazards in construction activities
Unit NCC2 (end of week 3) Construction health and safety practical application
NGC1 and NCC1 are assessed by written examination and NCC2 by practical examination. Delegates will be required to complete the NCC2 examination within 7 days of sitting the examination for Units NGC1 and/or NCC1.
General to Construction Conversion.Unit NGC1 also forms part of the NEBOSH National General Certificate or Certificate in Fire Safety and Risk Management. Delegates who have already achieved this Unit as part of either qualification within the last five years can count it towards achieving their National Certificate in Construction Health and Safety and can be exempted from week 1 and just attend weeks 2 and 3. Unit A of the National Diploma achieved within the last five years can also count towards the NGC1 but the result for this Unit is capped at a pass grade.
Candidates for NCC1 and NCC2 are required to complete an application form to confirm eligibility for this exemption.
