Electrical Maintenance Skills for First Line Maintenance WATA
15 days
This course is designed to provide the skills necessary for non- electrical personnel to carry out first line maintenance such as isolation, resetting and replacement of protection devices, disconnection and reconnection of motors, sensors, contactors, control units, etc, and fundamental fault finding.
The course aim is “understanding by doing” therefore the theory is sufficient to carry out the first line maintenance efficiently and safely and in compliance with Electricity at Work Regulations with an emphasis on the candidate demonstrating an understanding during the practical exercises.
If the company then wishes to show “competence” at work then we can arrange for the candidate to continue with an on site assessment programme, which would result in a nationally recognised NVQ level 2 or 3 (Qualification Credit Framework, (QCF), from December 2010) or we can arrange for on site assessment to show competence of various individual tasks.
