VRQ Certificate for Domestic Electrical Installer Level 2 (Part P) at WATA
10 days ( 2 weeks of 5 days)
The fundamental objective of this qualification is to enable candidates to
develop the competences to allow them to carry out electrical installation
work in dwellings. It references only those skills necessary to carry out
domestic electrical installation work in accordance with standard circuit
arrangements. The necessary competences to carry out the inspection
and testing of newly installed electrical installation work in dwellings are
also included in the qualification. The successful candidate will be
considered to have achieved competence, specifically as a Domestic
Electrical Installer. They will not be considered to have achieved the
recognised competence required to operate as an electrician.
The first week of 5 days is designed to cover the 9 modules of the Domestic Installer Part P regulations and will provide specific training for the practical and theoretical assessments, together with inspection and testing to IEE Standards.
A good basic knowledge of electricity and relevant experience is a requirement for this course and WATA may recommend that the Domestic Electrical Installer - Electrical Fundamentals be taken first.
The second week of 5 days is an intensive practical and theoretical
assessment, covering the 9 modules of the VRQ qualification. The last day
will be spent on the Building Regulations and subsequent exam. All parts
must be successfully completed in order to gain the VRQ Level 2 Award,
