Engineering Maintenance
The Engineering Maintenance NVQ benefits both employers and employees by offering alternative pathways and choice within pathways to suit the widest possible range of needs:

Performing Manufacturing Operations
The primary objective of the Performing Manufacturing Operations NVQ is to contribute to the development of a skilled workforce as a whole. This can be done, where possible, by integrating NVQ’s into the organisation’s models for personnel development and recognising the competence of the people who make up the workforce at all levels.
Mechanical Manufacturing Engineering
There are no entry requirements or age restriction for these qualifications. They are open to any candidate who has the potential to meet the requirements for the qualifications and offer the following pathways:
Machining, NC/CNC Machining, Machine Tool Setting, Fitting and Assembly, Pipe Fitting and Assembly, Composite Manufacture/Polymer Engineering, Optical Engineering.
Electrical and Electronic Services
These qualifications are suitable for those seeking recognition of their competence in a wide variety of activities including: Signal Reception, Consumer/Commercial Electronics
Certificate for Domestic Electrical Installers
This VRQ incorporates the requirements for electrical safety (Part P) of the Building Regulations and is in partnership with the ECA, NICEIC and SummitSkills. The programme is designed for persons undertaking work in the domestic electrical sector. Since January 2005, electrical installation work in dwellings needs to comply with Part P of the Building Regulations. This qualification is designed to specifically meet the needs of persons working within Part P of the Building Regulations. It will allow the holder to become a ‘Qualified Supervisor’ with a firm that has registered with a government approved Part P Competent Persons Scheme, and has the full commitment of the key trade bodies.
