Duration: 24-30 months

Course Fees
16-18 year olds – Fully funded
19 + year olds – 50% employer contribution which may be reduced based upon numbers greater than 1

The Engineering Manufacture framework at Level 2 is designed to provide skills, knowledge and competence required to operate at operator, semi-skilled, craft or technician levels as appropriate within the following Engineering sub-sectors; Electronics, Mechanical, Electrical and Metal goods. Intermediate Apprentices will work in roles such as;

■ Machine Operator

■ Machine Tool Fitter

■ Mechanical Fitter

■ Semi-skilled Sheet Metal Worker

■ CNC Operator

What does the course cover?

■ NVQ Level 2 Diploma in Mechanical Manufacturing Engineering

■ NVQ Level 2 Diploma in Performing Engineering Operations

■ Level 2 Diploma in Mechanical Engineering Technology

■ Functional Skills Level 1 in Maths, English and ICT

■ Personal Learning and Thinking Skills

■ Employment Rights and Responsibilities

Mandatory Units are; Complying with statutory regulations and organisational safety requirements, Using and interpreting engineering data and documentation and Working efficiently and effectively in engineering.

Examples of optional units include; Operating Milling Machines, Operating CNC Turning Machines, Operating CNC Grinding Machines, Operating Power Presses and Assembling Electrical or Electronic Components to Mechanical Equipment
