This qualification has been designed to give students a variety of general skills that will be important throughout their career. Students will gain an appreciation of the way that metals are processed, how their properties change and general underpinning knowledge. The programme will also cover the essential health and safety requirements for working in an engineering environment and workshop discipline.

During the course learners will do a series of practical based activities and create a portfolio of evidence, they will be observed and assessed throughout.

The Performing Engineering Operations qualification can be used towards an Advanced Apprenticeship in Engineering
